What you will do in your working day

As an IT Support Apprentice your key responsibilities will be:

  • Providing technical telephone, remote, onsite and email support
  • Log calls in the helpdesk call logging system
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, network and software issues
  • Manage users and permissions within Active Directory
  • Install & Configure Hardware & Software
  • Monitor remote backup systems
  • Migration of systems to Cloud such as Azure and Office 365
  • Manage Backup Estate
  • Manage VMWare Estate
  • Assist in any other general tasks that may arise

Desired skills and experience:

  • Experience of Windows XP/Windows 7/Windows 10
  • Experience of Active Directory User Administration
  • Experience of Microsoft office and office 365
  • Basic understanding of Networking solutions, TCP/IP, LAN, WAN.
  • Confident spoken and written English
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and be aware of time constraints and deadlines
  • Ability to research and learn new technologies/solutions under pressure
  • Strong team player
  • Experience with VMware/Hyper-V
  • Willing to learn and improve skill set with on-the-job training

The training you will be getting

  • Programme: Information Communications Technician – Support Technician Pathway
  • During this apprenticeship, you will follow a fully supported training programme with LearnTech, delivered through combined weekly remote classroom-based training, workplace assessment/training and online learning working towards completing the Level 3 Information Communications Technician Standard
  • Functional Skills in English and maths if required
