What you will do in your working day

Standard working week MON-FRI 8am - 5pm

Working closely with a small team of engineers

Indoor and Outdoor duties

  • Coldstore fabrication
  • General workshop duties
  • Woodwork and Metalwork
  • Prep, Trim and Press insulated panels
  • Coldstore preparation including; rubbing, sanding and painting
  • Manual handling and heavy lifting
  • Maintain a clean environment
  • Use a wide variety of hand/power tools and industrial machinery to a safe standard
  • Maintain cleanliness of vehicle fleet and/or all production areas

The training you will be getting

Training will be completed 1 day a week at Scarborough TEC College. On the job training carried out at our dedicated workshop in Sawdon, 6 miles from Scarborough. The apprentice will be graded on performance evidence and through knowledge questions and assessments via the college tutor.

Passing all criteria will result in a:

Level 3 Engineering Technician qualification, including 4 extra specialist areas in a particular subject.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

Following completion of each educational year, the candidates salary will be increased to encourage and promote retention within the program.

Year 1 - £7.50 p/h

Year 2 - £8.50 p/h

Year 3 - £9.50 p/h

Year 4 - £10.50 p/h

Once the 4 year course has been completed, the employee will gain a full contract within the company and be enrolled on to the company salary structure to reflect the skills obtained.
