What you will do in your working day

Duties to include:

  • Assisting with general administrative duties. Such as data entry, filing, and document management.
  • Collecting KPI data & quality reporting across the service
  • Communicating with external agencies for data and referrals
  • Website configuration
  • Assisting in the preparation of reports for our trustees
  • Drafting documents and agreements
  • Setting up housing benefit claims
  • Maintenance administration
  • Managing office supplies
  • Taking minutes for meetings
  • Conducting quarterly feedback
  • Coordinating appointments, meetings and events
  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure efficient and smooth operations

The training you will be getting

  • You will be working towards a Level 3 Business Administrator apprenticeship standard qualification.
  • The apprenticeship consists of a mixture of off the job training and on the job mentoring and development within the workplace.
  • You will be required to attend St Austell College fortnightly, with some elements of the course are delivered online.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

The majority of our senior management team at Harbour Housing started their careers in non-managerial positions and have worked their way through the different roles. As a growing charity, there are many progression routes and opportunities. For example, once the apprenticeship is completed a full-time position within one of our admin teams may be available.

Harbour Housing is an award-winning regional charity providing accommodation and support to those experiencing homelessness and other disadvantages across Cornwall. We provide services and manage projects across Cornwall and our goal is to empower beneficiaries to regain their independence and work towards maintaining their own accommodation through bespoke, person-centred support. A unique opportunity has arisen for two Business Administration apprentices to join the vibrant Navigators team at Harbour Housing's headquarters in St Austell. As a Business Administration apprentice, you will have the opportunity to acquire significant experience in a supportive and inclusive workplace while helping disadvantaged individuals within our community. This apprenticeship will give you with the necessary skills and knowledge to launch a successful career in administration while also contributing to the vital task of assisting individuals in rebuilding their lives.
