What you will do in your working day

  • The apprenticeship role will be maintenance engineering with an electrical bias, however all aspects of maintenance engineering will be taught, including mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic.

  • Not only will fault finding and rectification skills be taught on the above but the role will also involve working with Programmable Logic Controllers, digital proportional valves, alternating current/direct current inverter drives and Linear Variable Digital Transducers.

  • The role involves reactive but also preventive and predictive maintenance via planned preventative maintenance ensuring minimum machine downtime.

The training you will be getting

  • You will achieve a maintenance and operations engineering technician level 3 qualification upon successful completion of the apprenticeship.
  • Training will take place one day at week either at Strode College or the workplace.
  • Strode College will be managing the applications for this vacancy.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

  • Upon completion of the apprenticeship there will be an opportunity to progress to a fully skilled shift maintenance engineer with responsibilities of managing your time and resources to effect repairs and minimise machine downtime.
