This is an exciting and very rare opportunity for a hard working and enthusiastic apprentice to join the College in the busy finance office. Whilst supporting the team, you will learn all aspects of accounts and administrative skills, whilst working towards an AAT qualification.

£14,526 a year

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

Level 2 Apprenticeship in Accounting comprising of:

  • Level 2 AAT Certificate in Accounting
    Functional Skills Level 1/2 in English (if not already achieved)
  • Functional Skills Level 1/2 in maths (if not already achieved)
  • This apprenticeship is delivered via on-line classroom learning each week
  • There will be dedicated time towards training and learning new skills.
  • You will be allocated a tutor who will provide you with personal support and assessments at pre-arranged times

Course contents
  • Record transactional data.
  • Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as, reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
  • Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
  • Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
  • Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
  • Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.

    Essential qualifications

    GCSE or equivalent in:

    • 5 GCSE's including maths and English (grade 4 / C or above)

    Other requirements

    This is a full-time position (NOT term time only). Imperative to understand and follow the College’s Safeguarding/Child Protection procedures in order to maintain the safety of all students To report matters of concern in line with the College’s procedures.
