What you will do in your working day

  • Preparing classroom resources, ready for lessons under the direction of the class teacher and clearing away afterwards so as to maintain a safe and clean environment
  • Assisting teachers in preparing the lesson materials and school equipment
  • Recording and reporting a pupil’s progress to the teacher
  • Helping pupils stay focused during class lessons
  • Following the school’s behaviour policy
  • Supervising group activities, at sports events and on school outings
  • Providing a healthy and safe learning environment for children
  • Promoting positive playground behaviour by leading games outside and completing daily outdoor duties
  • Assisting pupils with additional needs and delivering daily activities and sessions to meet their individual targets

The training you will be getting

  • The successful applicant(s) will have full access to in-service training within the school
  • Upon completion, you will achieve a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification

The role offers sufficient training that the apprentice will be confident in applying for teaching assistant roles or as a stepping stone to higher qualifications or further education.
