We are looking for a motivated Accounts/ Finance Apprentice to join our certification company based in Malvern. The position will include a variety of accountancy tasks and study towards a Level 2 AAT qualification.

Annual wage
£12,000 a year

The pay may be negotiated and may rise after a probation period has been successfully completed.

Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm with 1 hour for lunch (Very occasionally optional extra hours)

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

Formal training is delivered at HWGTA, located in Worcester (WR4 9GN).

You will receive training one day per week which is a combination of face-to-face and remote, as per your assigned training plan.

Additional training for functional skills in English and maths will be undertaken if needed.

You will receive monthly visits from your assigned Learning and Development Specialist, who will set you work, monitor your development and wellbeing, and discuss training sessions. They will also prepare you for your End Point Assessment to gain your Accounts/Finance Assistant Level 2 qualification such as AAT level 2.

There is also a five-day teambuilding residential trip that is held in the spring of each year offered to all apprentices on programme.

Course contents
  • Record transactional data.
  • Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as, reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
  • Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
  • Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
  • Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
  • Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.

    Essential qualifications

    GCSE or equivalent in:

    • English (grade 4-9)
    • Maths (grade 4-9)

    Other requirements

    This position could potentially be a level 3 for the right candidate. Possibility of taking on 2 candidates. Nearest train station is Malvern link 20/30-minute walk away, so own travel arrangements would be an advantage
