An enthusiastic and suitably competent IT Solutions Apprentice is required to support the development of the Wishford group of independent schools. The successful candidate will have a good intellect, work ethic and a practical aptitude for IT. Full training and an Apprenticeship are provided.

Annual wage
£18,512 a year

The pay may be negotiated and may rise after a probation period has been successfully completed.

Training course
IT solutions technician (level 3)
Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.30pm, with all on and off the job training provided (breaks to be confirmed).

40 hours a week

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

IT Solutions Technician Level 3 Standard Apprenticeship

Each apprentice will be allocated a Coach to support ongoing learning and preparation for EPA. In addition, Progress Reviews will take place regularly to ensure the apprentice is on track.

End Point Assessment

The three EPA assessment methods are:

  • Four multiple-choice Knowledge Tests
  • A Portfolio of Evidence or ‘Showcase’
  • A Project and Interview
  • Link to Professional Registration

The apprenticeship is recognised for entry into the BCS (The Chartered Institute for IT) Register of IT Technicians confirming Level 3 Professional Competence

GCSE or equivalent in:

  • Computing / Computer Science or similar (grade 9-4/A-C)

After this apprenticeship

Subject to successful completion of the Apprenticeship and meeting the criteria of the role, the Apprentice may be offered a position within our growing IT Team, either working in a Level 2 Desktop Support role or potentially working at Level 3 and dealing with Networking and Infrastructure matters.
