What you will do in your working day

  • Communicate as required with the college assessor and complete all training by required dates
  • General work assisting the painters including site preparation and clearance, and maintaining general site tidiness and assisting as directed by the painter
  • Shadow key team members to observe and learn techniques.
  • Use company equipment safely and respectfully
  • Work closely with all team members to complete projects to the highest standard
  • Ensure all materials are used in the most efficient manner, minimising waste and waste by damage. Any damage to be raised with management
  • Applying protective coverings such as masking tape to articles or areas that could be damaged or stained by work processes (including pre-finished surfaces)
  • Filling cracks or breaks in surfaces
  • Smoothing surfaces of articles to be painted, using sanding and buffing tools and equipment
  • Attend site on occasions to obtain experience and knowledge of a site environment
  • Work with production team to maintain a safe and orderly work space at all times
  • Work with production team to ensure safe manners or working are carried out at all times on the premise and on site
  • Work with production team to ensure correct PPE is used at all times
  • Ensure all time usage and teams is recorded to the correct project on a daily basis
  • Attend meetings with internal and external stakeholders as required

  • Functional Skills in English and/or maths if required
  • Training at the college. Block release attending 1 week in 5
