What you will do in your working day

Duties will include:

  • You will be required to be part of the child-to-adult ratio (as required by Ofsted)
  • There will be an element of housekeeping duties that is required for the children's care
  • E-learning courses will be set up to further the knowledge of the learner
  • To support the day-to-day responsibility for efficiently running the setting facility
  • To support your colleagues and work as part of a team in providing a safe, caring and stimulating environment for all children
  • To encourage the children to maintain and develop their own individuality and independence

The training you will be getting

Early Years Educator Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard:

The Early Years apprenticeship prepares learners to become Early Years Educators, enabling them to work with children from birth to 5 years and gain knowledge of children aged 5 to 7 years

This qualification is structured around the following four themes:

  • Health and well-being
  • Legislation, frameworks and professional practice
  • Play, development and learning for school readinessProfessional development
  • You will also complete a Paediatric first-aid qualification, and Functional Skills in maths and English if required
  • The training will take place within the educational setting with no day release required to college and you will have regular reviews with your tutor every 4 - 6 weeks

Apprentices without level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this level before taking the end-point assessment.
