What you will do in your working day

The successful Candidate will be required to be part of a fast-paced team and be able to work in both a reactive and planned manner to ensure compliance with the Group’s Financial Regulations and the Public Contract Regulations.

The role will be widely varied and will incorporate administration duties as well as in-house training to help develop the candidate in their journey towards a future career within Procurement.

The successful Candidate will be required to be part of a fast-paced team and be able to work in both a reactive and planned manner to ensure compliance with the Group’s Financial Regulations and the Public Contract Regulations.

The role will be widely varied and will incorporate administration duties as well as in-house training to help develop the candidate in their journey towards a future career within Procurement.

  • Telephone/Skype/Teams call handling internal and external 
  • Managing the Procurement email inbox 
  • Requisition processing, to ensure compliance 
  • Order expediting and query resolution 
  • Provide administration support, as required, to Senior procurement staff 
  • Complete due diligence on Supplier Applications and maintain the Supplier database 
  • Assist the Procurement Officer in engineering tender documents 
  • Assist in the procurement of goods and services in accordance with the Group’s Financial Regulations. 
  • Facilitate the P2P solution in accordance with the Group’s Financial Regulations. 
  • Obtain quotations via the e-tendering portal in accordance with the Group’s Financial Regulations. 
  • Develop and maintain good internal and external relationships with customers and suppliers. 
  • Any other duties as may be required.

The training you will be getting

  • In return we will support you in achieving Advanced Level 3 Procurement and Supply Assistant, including Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) certification, and register you as a CIPS Student Member enabling access to CIPS website and resources to further support your learning.
  • Learning will be completed in the workplace and remotely via The Apprenticeship Academy.
  • Allocated study time is provided to support the apprentice.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

  • Permanent role on successful completion Progression to Level 4 CIPS
