An exciting opportunity for an equine groom apprentice on a show jumping yard. With training on site everyday and when required this is a fantastic opportunity to join a friendly, hard-working team with further training and employment available for the right candidate.

Annual wage
£13,312 a year

Training course
Equine groom (level 2)
Shifts to be confirmed between 7.30am - 5.00pm, with 1.5 hour break.

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment.
  • The applicant will be working towards and gain a Level 2 Equine Groom apprenticeship qualification.
  • Functional Skills in maths and English, if required.
  • The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on site visits throughout the apprenticeship.
  • The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship.

Desirable qualifications

GCSE or equivalent in:

Other requirements

There is no accommodation on site. Applicants should ideally have a driving licence or reliable access to transport. Livery for the successful candidates own horse could be available if required. About this company

Based in Hertfordshire and conveniently located close to major motorways (M1, A1, A505), Lucy is regularly out competing at qualifiers, premiers and stay-away shows. Some of her current horses are aimed for the International circuit and age classes. Although heading for the ‘big stuff’, Lucy is always happy to help friends and colleagues, from novices to experienced riders. She’s never too busy to pop over and help with a tricky horse, unsuitable tack or a nervous rider. Lucy is an outstanding rider and mentor. She shows an unrivalled dedication to her sport and a real passion to become the very best in her field.
