What you will do in your working day

In food manufacturing no day is the same - from planned maintenance, breakdowns, commissioning of new equipment and big projects, it’s all happening at CGB.

  • Able to carry out a variety of technical duties related to the role, competently and efficiently with training and / or support as appropriate
  • Demonstrates a logical and practical approach to tasks
  • To always deliver the best possible standards to our customers by never compromising on quality, food safety and health and safety and being aware of the environmental impact of our activities

Maintenance & Operations Engineering Technician Apprenticeship Level 3.

Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Diploma Level 3.

What will I study?
This apprenticeship will give you the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to work as Maintenance & Operations Engineering Technician and we offer the following routes:

  • Electrical Technician
  • Mechanical Technician
  • Electrical System and Process Control Technician
  • Electromechanical Technician
  • You will also work towards the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Diploma and produce a portfolio of evidence on which the End-Point Assessment (EPA) technical interview will be based

Method of delivery:

A flexible model of delivery is available based on the employer’s needs and can include an optional Level 2 Advanced Manufacturing Engineering.

How will I be assessed?

Successful achievement of the End-Point Assessment (EPA) will lead to final certification of the apprenticeship. The assessment, with an independent assessor, will comprise of:

Knowledge assessment(multiple-choice paper) - apprentices will be required to complete a standardised scenario based knowledge assessment consisting of 30 multiple-choice questions, taken under examination conditions.

Practical Assessment - this observation will provide the opportunity for the apprentice to synoptically demonstrate core and specific knowledge, skills and behaviours on actual plant and equipment in a realistic work situation.

Technical Interview - the interview will be based on the contents of the evidence portfolio, which may be compiled throughout the apprenticeship and finalised during the end-point assessment period.
