What you will do in your working day

  • Support HSE Manager with the creation, delivery and monitoring of plans which underpin the HSE system, strategy and support the achievement of the operational objectives.
  • Work with the HSE Manager to improve safety culture, and to develop a motivational and rewarding working environment that will facilitate the achievement of business objectives and company values.
  • Ensure the delivery of the company’s HSE KPIs by reporting monthly on progress, updating internal communications, and booking employee training.
  • Support and encourage positive employee engagement and communication through our mental wellbeing support programme.
  • To support the HSE Manager in maintaining company site compliance and reporting systems relating to all health & safety matters.
  • Support with monitoring mandatory compliance training via the company e-learning platform for all environmental and health & safety elements.
  • Support HSE initiatives and projects outside of assigned areas of responsibility as allocated by the HSE Manager.
  • To support the HSE Manager with health & safety and environmental committees and any other relevant meetings, preparing meeting agenda, briefing papers, and coordinating reports and policy updates.
  • Support the HSE Manager with ISO 45001 / 14001 external audit accreditations by providing information and evidence as required for external assessors.
  • Assist the HSE Manager in collecting, analysing, and reporting environmental data to support the organisation’s journey to Net Zero, ensuring alignment with sustainability goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead and oversee key safety projects, ensuring project goals are met, within scope, and within budget.

The training you will be getting

Safety, Health and Environment Technician Apprenticeship Level 3 includes:

  • Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
  • Work based delivery of Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard
  • Full company induction including health and safety
  • 20% Off-the-job time will be given for study / assignments
  • Monthly contact session with your PV trainer
  • Internal training provided by your employer and workplace mentor

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

Once you complete the qualification a pathway to additional NEBOSH provided qualifications within the Safety, Health, and Environmental sectors

GCSE or equivalent English, Mathematics, plus a minimum of 3 others (Grade C/4) Essential

Things to consider

There is a need for travel to other locations within the UK and nights away to cover the operational activities as appropriate. As such the successful candidate will need to have a UK driving license. Other locations include Scotland, North East and South of England.
