What you will do in your working day

  • Rotating through our three restaurants, learning in each
  • Understanding the journey of food from farm to fork
  • Supplementing your knowledge with involvement in our production kitchens such as our butchery and bakery

The training you will be getting

  • Working towards a Level 2 Commis chef qualification 
  • The apprentices will complete their training predominantly on-site at The Newt in Somerset 
  • Throughout the year, there will be occasions where the apprentices travel to workshops run by HIT 
  • Functional skills in English and maths if required
