    Monday-Friday 8am-4.30pm On occasion you may have to start at 7.30am or finish later than anticipated, this will be dependent on child/staff ratios. There will be an opportunity for overtime.

What you will do in your working day

  • To contribute to a high standard care of the children.
  • To maintain a working knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage, as well as current issues surrounding the Early Years.
  • To understand fully and adhere to the Nursery’s policies and procedures at all times.
  • To work as part of the nursery team.
  • To implement and adhere to a consistent daily routine both indoors and outdoors that meets the developmental needs of all children. 
  • To work alongside the nursery practitioners in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities for the children.
  • To be flexible and be prepared to help wherever needed. throughout the nursery.
  • To understand and adhere to all the nurseries policies. 
    To attend training courses arranged by the nursery.
  • To attend all staff meetings.
  • To liaise with a mentor or the manager.
  • To work as part of the nursery team. 
    To provide comfort and a feeling of security for all the children.
  • To encourage the children to adopt good hygiene procedures through modelling good practices.
  • To ensure health and safety practices are upheld, including identifying risks and reporting them to the health and safety coordinator.
  • To respect the confidentiality of information about individual children.
  • To immediately report any safeguarding concerns to the SOCCO and Management Team. 

The training you will be getting

  • Early Year Practitioner Level 2
  • Functional skills if required
  • You will complete 6 hours off the job training each week, which will take place at Tree Tots Nursery

Things to consider

This is a very hands on job. We do explore the outdoors in all weather conditions, so be prepared to get wet. The successful candidate with require a full enhanced DBS to be undertaken.
