What you will do in your working day

Key Responsibilities:

Administrative Support:

  • Assist with general office duties, including filing, photocopying, and data entry.
  • Update student/staff records and databases.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail, emails, and phone calls.
  • Prepare documents and run reports as required.

Reception Duties:

  • Greet visitors and handle inquiries at the reception desk.
  • Ensure the reception area is tidy and presentable.
  • Manage the signing in and out process for visitors and staff.

Communication:

  • Liaise with students, staff, and external stakeholders in a professional manner.
  • Assist in the coordination of meetings and school events.
  • Distribute information to students, staff, and parents as needed

Support to School Staff:

  • Provide administrative support to teachers and school leadership.
  • Assist with the organization of school trips, events, and activities.
  • Assist with the preparation & co-ordination of exams

Data Management:

  • Ensure accurate and timely input of data into the school’s management information system.
  • Assist with the preparation of statistical and management reports. 

Compliance and Confidentiality:

  • Adhere to school policies and procedures, including those related to safeguarding and data protection.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information at all times.

Skills and Qualities:

Essential:

  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and challenges.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in an administrative or customer service role.
  • Familiarity with educational environments or working with young people.
  • Basic understanding of data management and confidentiality principles.

The training you will be getting

You will be working towards a Level 3 Business Administration qualification. 

You may also need to work towads Level 2 Functional Skills in Maths and English if not acheived at GCSE or equivalent. 

All training will be delivered remotely via Teams, during paid working hours.
