What you will do in your working day

Ducklings in Moreton prides itself on being fully involved in the community and is the longest established day nursery in Moreton.

As a Level 2 Early Years Practitioner Apprentice, duties will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Toileting
  • Feeding children
  • Reading stories
  • Planning activities
  • Doing risk assessments
  • Safeguarding children
  • Communicating with children and parents

The training you will be getting

  • Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. Ducklings Day Nursery will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day
  • You will be working towards the Level 2 Early Years Practitioner apprenticeship standard, which includes: Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours Level 2 Early Years Practitioner Qualification Functional skills in maths and English if required
  • This will be delivered through Ducklings Day Nursery's dedicated training provider, Realise. Realise is an established training provider that’s enjoying an exciting period of growth following a management buyout and rebrand in late 2020

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

  • Once qualified at Level 2 candidates can progress onto their Childcare Level 3 or Team leader/supervisor Level 3 qualification
