Group Tegula based in Tyne and Wear are looking to recruit a Roofing Apprentice. During this apprenticeship you will be expected to work safely, move and handle materials whilst complying with legislation. On completion of this apprenticeship, a roofer will have knowledge of core behaviours expected to be displayed by all roofing apprentices.

What you will do in your working day

Daily duties

  • Climbing to heights and conducting work with proper safety restraints
  • Loading and unloading of material across the site. This will involve manual handling of heavy and / or awkward objects
  • Performing setup and clean-up tasks at job site.
  • Provide support as needed for speciality workers.
  • Comply with responsibilities as laid down in Company Health & Safety Policy and as explained in Site Health and Safety Rules/Procedures
  • At all times comply with company policies, procedures and instructions
  • Undertake training as required
  • Work within deadlines to install/repair roof systems to required standards
  • Ensuring quality is achieved and wastage kept to a minimum.
  • This is not an exhaustive list and other duties will be required from time to time

The training you will be getting

  • Roofer Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard
  • Functional Skills in maths and English, if required
  • Learner will come to Derwentside College based in Consett every 6/8 weeks, Monday to Thursday

The company covers the North-East. Candidates must be able to travel to the employer premises please consider travel arrangements prior to applying for this role. Working at Height, Hot Works, Ability to work as part of a team. Driving licence is desirable.
