What you will do in your working day

Please note the employer is based in Newport and you must be able to get there for 7.30am. You will then go on to site with the employer. You will learn all aspects of joinery working alongside and guided by time served joiners, with one day per weekday release to Hull college. Duties include: • 1st fix joinery • 2nd fix joinery • Fitting Kitchens • Roofing and window frames • Fitting flooring • Hanging doors • Using hand tools • Joints and fixings • Frames • Stud walls

The training you will be getting

• Hull College will deliver the Apprenticeship Standard in Carpentry and Joinery Level 2 • Functional Skills in maths and English if required • Day release once a week at Hull College

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

Upon successful completion of this apprenticeship a full-time position may be available for the right candidate.
