What you will do in your working day

  • Work with pupils as directed, specifically including those with special educational needs.
  • To follow safeguarding procedures and ensure the well-being of all children.
  • Establishing good relationships with pupils encouraging them to interact with others and engage in activities whilst being aware of individual needs.
  • Work with individuals or small groups of pupils in the classroom under the direct supervision of teaching staff and provide feedback by annotating children’s work and verbally to the teacher.
  • Support pupils in using basic ICT.
  • Support pupils to understand instructions, support independent learning and inclusion of all pupils; promoting the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils.
  • Supporting the teacher in managing pupil behavior, reporting difficulties/ progress / achievements as appropriate.
  • Support pupils with social and emotional well-being, reporting to the teacher as appropriate.
  • Prepare and clear up learning environment and resources, including photocopying, filing and the display and presentation of pupils work and contribute to maintaining a safe environment.
  • Use online systems to record information – behavior/ safeguarding/ accidents.
