What you will do in your working day

  • Accurately and efficiently invoicing sold vehicles for new, used and trade car sales
  • Registering and taxing new and used vehicles using the AFRL system
  • Bringing new vehicles into stock from the manufacturers
  • Bringing used vehicles into stock and ensure all relevant paperwork is uploaded onto our system
  • Updating the MID (Motor Insurance Database) for insurance purposes
  • Preparing paperwork for the sale and subsequent hand over by a sales executive of a vehicle sale to a customer including but not limited to setting up any insurance products that have been sold
  • Assist accounts team with ensuring the costing of preparation work on the vehicle is correct
  • Assisting accounts team with debtors linked to vehicle sales including manufacture bonuses

The training you will be getting

The apprenticeship standard is at level 2. The structure allows you to achieve the AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) Level 2 Foundation Certificate in Accounting qualification as part of your off-the-job training programme.

Apprentices will receive training and mentoring in the workplace as part of their on-the-job training. In addition, off-the-job training for the level 2 apprenticeship knowledge, skills and behaviour will be delivered by FAR Training, through a combination of online-live/classroom-based lessons and self-study assignments. Training will be delivered 1 day every week. FAR Training is based at Askham Bryan in York.

The level 2 apprenticeship covers a range of key areas, including:

  • Introduction to bookkeeping
  • Principles of bookkeeping
  • Principles of costing
  • The Business Environment 

You will also develop business communications and lifelong learning skills, applying what you learn on the course to the wider industry context.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

Drive are keen supporters of progression and growth and will support successful applicants in completing their level 2 apprenticeship.

There will be opportunities for them to undertake further responsibilities to develop and grow. Also, if possible, there will be opportunities for you to progress onto level 3 and 4 apprenticeships in the future.

It is expected that the individual who fills the vacancy will work from offices based at Seamer Road, Scarborough. Please ensure that you can travel to these premises for a 9.00am start. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and off-the-job training hours that's part of their apprenticeship (one day per week).
