In this diverse role, you will work within the reception and administrator teams carrying out a variety of tasks, including delivering excellent customer service to patients and providing general assistance to the Practice team.

What you will do in your working day

  • Providing excellent customer service at all times when speaking with patients on telephone and in person 
  • Receiving and welcoming patients upon arrival at the surgery
  • Making appointments for patients via the telephone or face to face
  • Training to be given in the repeat prescription process
  • Arranging transport and home visits for doctors 
  • Ensuring all paperwork is documented in the correct format and added to patient records 
  • Complete the new patient process, ensure all information is documented
  • Deal with and action SystmOne tasks and notifications in a timely manner
  • Regularly check the Practice email inbox and take the appropriate action

The training you will be getting

  • You will work towards an Advanced level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship qualification, delivered by VQ Solutions
  • You'll have a dedicated VQ Mentor and will also be supported internally by your manager
  • During this apprenticeship, you will develop a portfolio, attend online workshop sessions and have regular reviews
  • All apprenticeship work will be completed during working hours

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

  • Church Avenue Surgery offers excellent progressional routes, this could include nurse training, pharmaceutical and further operations management training
