What you will do in your working day

Our new business administration apprentice will play a crucial role in supporting the growth of our business. You will contribute to the efficiency of the team through support of functional areas, working with all staff and resolving issues as requested.

This is a public facing reception post.
Our new receptionist/administrator is expected to deliver their responsibilities efficiently and with integrity, showing a positive attitude. The role involves demonstrating strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and adopting a proactive approach to developing skills.

Our new apprentice will be able to show initiative and have an ability to manage their own priorities and time effectively.

Key duties will include:

Making and receiving telephone calls.

Sending and receiving emails.

Helping to set up and improve administrative processes for the accounts team.

Undertake administration tasks as required, including diary management, meeting co-ordination, incoming and outgoing post, scanning, helping progress the electronic filing systems, yearly tax return letters and updating the WIP log.

Other duties may include stationery orders, creating new client packs and setting up new clients on our database, bank deposits, ensuring that the database is kept up to date and archiving old data.

The training you will be getting

Level 3 Business Administrator apprenticeship standard, including Functional Skills if required.

You will work with expert assessors to develop new knowledge, skills and behaviours within the profession.

You will experience a blended learning model.

This is predominantly a work based programme which means that your learning will take place on the site of your employment and within your contracted working hours. We host supporting workshops regularly throughout the apprenticeship which you will attend in person at our Derby Road campus. Monthly tutorials are held via Microsft Teams.

You will gather learning evidence, journals and off-the-job records using your e-portfolio.

At the end of the planned learning period, it will be agreed that you are ready to enter 'Gateway' and for your End Point Assessment to be arranged.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

Upon successful completion of your apprenticeship, the company are looking to support you to remain in the role. Further relevant training will be offered using various methods to ensure that you remain current in your position.
