What you will do in your working day

Key Responsibilities:

Workshop:

  • Process orders received via phone or hub, coordinate deliveries, and handle customer inquiries to ensure excellent service

Maintenance:

  • Oversee utility setups for properties and hubs, and coordinate maintenance for organisational vehicles as needed
  • Work closely with the housing manager to facilitate communication between the organisation, landlords and contractors etc, ensuring that properties and facilities maintain compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Administrative tasks associated with this responsibility may include documentation management, and scheduling maintenance appointments

Staff and Volunteers:

  • Assist in conducting initial staff inductions to familiarise new employees with organisational policies and procedures, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed and forwarded to relevant departments
  • Participate in and support to arrange quarterly staff and volunteer events, fostering a positive and inclusive organisational culture
  • Maintain accurate staff records, including annual leave requests and recording absences, and communicate policy changes and service updates to staff and volunteers

Additional Duties:

  • Coordinate the procurement process, including ordering materials, products, furniture, and other essential items for the organisation
  • Support the housing manager in managing rents and financial transactions for properties
  • Maintain records of financial expenditures including assisting in the invoicing process

  • Business Administrator Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard
  • Full, on the job training will be provided by the employer
  • This apprenticeship is delivered in the workplace - the only requirement to attend Bishop Auckland College will be for initial assessment and end of unit exams / tests
