What you will do in your working day

  • Achieving Irtec accreditation for inspection of PCV vehicles.
  • Obtain PCV licence
  • Prepare and present Vehicles for Annual MOT
  • Effectively maintain a fleet of up to 51 vehicles
  • Carry out Preventative Maintenance Inspections (PMI)
  • Carry out diagnostics on vehicle faults and follow through to complete repair works as required.
  • Repair reported Vehicle Defects
  • Ensure wheel torque programme is carried out In line with company procedures
  • Completion of paperwork for Defects and PMIs in a digital format.
  • Carry out roller brake testing

The training you will be getting

  • You will work towards the Level 3 Bus & Coach Engineering Technician Apprenticeship standard qualification with Gateshead College.
  • Training schedule has yet to be agreed. Details will be made available at a later date.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

  • Full time employment in a mechanic role within the business upon completion & review of apprenticeship

This role will involve lifting heavy objects, working in all weathers as some work is carried out outdoors.
