What you will do in your working day

Assistant tennis coach responsibilities:

  • Assist the head coach in planning, organising, and conducting tennis lessons and programs for players of all ages and skill levels
  • Provide instruction and guidance to players on proper techniques, strategies, and game fundamentals
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of tennis courts and equipment
  • Help evaluate players’ skills and progress to provide personalised feedback and recommendations for improvement
  • Support the development of lesson plans and training schedules
  • Ensure the safety of all participants during practices and matches
  • Encourage a positive and supportive atmosphere for players to learn and grow in their tennis abilities
  • Assist in promoting and marketing the tennis program to attract new participants and retain current members
  • Collaborate with other coaches and staff to coordinate events, tournaments, and special programs
  • Stay informed about current trends and best practices in tennis coaching and instruction

Community Hub and Administration Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Assist as the central point of contact for the community hub, providing assistance and support to visitors, members, and stakeholders
  • Coordinate and manage the day-to-day operations of the community hub, including scheduling, reservations, and facility maintenance
  • Organise and promote community events, programs, and activities to engage members and foster a sense of community
  • Collaborate with local organisations, businesses, and government agencies to enhance community partnerships and resources
  • Develop and implement marketing and outreach strategies to increase awareness and participation in community hub offerings
  • Assist with financial management, including budgeting, invoicing, and tracking expenses and revenue
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of programs and services, soliciting feedback and making recommendations for improvement
  • Uphold the values and mission of the organisation, promoting inclusivity, diversity, and accessibility within the community hub

The training you will be getting

Upon successful completion of the sports business management degree apprenticeship (aligned to the chartered manager standard), the apprentice will be awarded with a BSc (Hons) Sports Business Management (Work-Based), and will also receive chartered manager status through the Chartered Management Institute.

The apprentice will attend the University of Hertfordshire's de Havilland campus in Hatfield one day per week for face to face teaching.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

There may be progression opportunities within the business upon successful completion of the apprenticeship.

Get Set 4 Tennis CIC is a non-profit tennis club dedicated to serving the community in Maple Cross, Abbots Langley and beyond. We offer tennis programs tailored for individuals with disabilities, as well as for low-income families. Additionally, we provide mental health programs and various other community activities for all ages.
