Starting in September 2024 for 15 months, as our Apprentice Chef you will receive a training programme which will aim to broaden your horizon and sustainably practice your culinary skills.

What you will do in your working day

  • Complete tasks relevant, but not limited, to the kitchen function in an efficient way. Prepare and cook food orders in accordance with the hotel menu, delivering on time, and liaising with relevant teams to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Proactively assist in preparing, serving and storing all products to ensure the best quality, in a cost-effective and efficient manner, considering food costs within specified budgets, and minimising wastage.
  • Having previous paid or work experience in a hospitality environment is preferred, or demonstrate a clear passion for the culinary arts.
  • Create a welcoming atmosphere and personalised service for each individual external and internal guest having an eye for detail and responding appropriately to guest and leadership feedback.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability when personalising external and internal guests’ needs 

The training you will be getting

  • Attend college 1 day per week to complete your Level 2 Commis Chef qualification.
  • Training will be conducted in Westminster Kingsway College
  • You must have passed GCSE Maths & English. If you haven't, we'll arrange for you to complete this during your 15 months with us. 

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

Our International hotel group aims to give great future prospects, either with us at Park Plaza or with other companies. You'll leave this 15 month apprenticeship with a Level 2 Commis Chef qualifacation, fully equipped to enter the world of food!
