What you will do in your working day

Mechanic - Learning all aspects of the Motor trade:

  • Perform simple automotive repairs
  • Follow car checklists
  • Learn repair techniques
  • Write estimates
  • Inspect and test vehicles
  • Test car batteries
  • Clean shop, inventory, and customer areas
  • Disassemble vehicles and engines
  • Order vehicle parts
  • Shadowing and learning from experienced mechanics/technicians

The training you will be getting

Apprenticeship - Auto-care Technician - Level 2.

This apprenticeship will be completed by working 4-days per week onsite with the employer, learning the job role and gaining valuable work experience, and then 1-day per week attending Derby College to complete coursework and assessments.

English and maths Functional Skills may be completed alongside the apprenticeship if necessary, however, passing this will be mandatory to receive the apprenticeship qualification.
