This role would be ideal for a Groundworker looking to make the step up or someone similar passionate about site engineering. Based in the heart of Leeds, this role will give you all the tools you need to excel in this field.

What you will do in your working day

  • Setting out, levelling and surveying a construction site
  • Working with site plans, drawings and building information models
  • Mapping structural boundaries on the ground using pegs and markers
  • Liaising with designers and engineers to ensure plans and drawings are accurate
  • Overseeing quality control
  • Monitoring health and safety
  • Keeping a site diary
  • Resolving technical problems

The training you will be getting

The successful applicant will work towards a Level 3 Civil Engineering Technician Qualification, which will take 24 months plus 6 months EPA (End Point Assessment) and will be 1 day per week through Leeds College of Building.

Qualification: Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Civil Engineering (603/1217/8)

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

Civil Engineering Technicians give technical support to engineers on construction projects. They tend to specialise in one area of civil engineering, such as design, planning or logistics and may be involved in projects ranging from building bridges, to widening roads, or creating new infrastructure.
