What you will do in your working day

In working towards the Business Administration L3 qualification the successful candidate will assist with a range of support services in order to deliver a high quality patient experience at the Trust and so will need to have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills. They will also be a team player and willing to learn.

Duties may include:

  • Dealing with telephone queries.
  • Communicating information verbally and in writing, routine information with patients and/or staff.
  • Follows departmental procedures and policies.
  • Data input procedures acquired through on-the-job training.
  • Escalating issues when necessary.
  • Providing a high level of administration.
  • Speaking to and supporting medical professionals and patients.
  • Prioritises work, resolves conflicting diary appointments and schedules.
  • Process and store records/transcribe and type up formal minutes.
  • To provide clerical and administrative support to include word processing, spreadsheets, filing, photocopying and maintenance of records.

The training you will be getting

The apprentice will complete Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship. This apprenticeship is completed within the workplace and you will be assessed through written work and observation throughout your training.

You will be given time by your employer to complete portfolio work, attend training, workplace shadowing and any other opportunities to develop your skills and knowledge.

If you do not currently hold a Level 2 qualification in Maths and English (Grade C / 4 GCSE or above) then you will study this as part of the apprenticeship and receive a formal qualification in this subject.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

Most roles available are permanent positions and on successful completion you will be in a permanent, full-time role. There are a small number of fixed-term posts for the duration of the apprenticeship, however there will be many opportunities to apply for a permanent post towards the end of your apprenticeship.

There will be opportunities for career progression and complete a higher level apprenticeship.

Things to consider

There are vacancies available at both Oxford Road and North Manchester General Hospital. If you are shortlisted, we will ask for your preference of location. The delivery of the Training will take place monthly at Oxford Road Campus or North Manchester General Hospital and you will need to travel to each site on your apprenticeship delivery day.
