What you will do in your working day

To provide sales support to the TGC customer base and sales force and assist the purchasing team in procuring and expediting goods & services. Ensuring sales and GP are maximised whilst delivering the best service and customer satisfaction.

Your duties and responsibilities in this role will consist of:

  • Construct and submit sales quotations to both clients direct and the TGC sales force using the internal quotation tool
  • Maximise sales GP by continually expanding orders and up selling on all incoming and outgoing calls
  • Ensure that customer complaints, issues and queries reach a rapid, successful and appropriate conclusion. Where relevant, such matters must be escalated to the Internal Sales Manager
  • Maintain an agreed level of pro-active telephone contact with both existing and prospective customers, operating a call-out cycle, which includes chasing quotations and updating on promotions and customer events as required by Internal Sales Manager
  • Procure and expedite goods & services and process returns when required
  • Ensure all orders received are entered into the TGC System accurately
  • Maximise order GP via negotiation and utilising the appropriate suppliers whilst maintaining vendor relationships
  • Undertake and maintain administration as required

Successful completion of this apprenticeship gives you an accredited Level 3 Business Administration qualification, with training in how to:

  • Use multiple IT packages and systems in order to write letters/emails, perform financial processes and analyse data
  • Produce accurate records and documents including emails, letters, files, payments, reports and proposals
  • Exercise proactivity and good judgement, in order to make effective decisions based on sound reasoning
  • Plan and organise a variety of different tasks in order to manage the expectations of colleagues at all levels
  • Manage projects, including the use of tools to scope, plan, monitor and report
