As an apprentice dental nurse, you will help out around the surgery, cleaning instruments and customer care alongside some admin duties. You will be supporting patients, maintaining patient records & preparing equipment for dental surgery.

    5 minutes to Haymarket Metro Station and Tyne Dock Metro Station working between 2 practices. Monday – Thursday 9.00am – 1.00pm, 2.00pm – 5.30pm Friday 9.00am – 4.30pm.

What you will do in your working day

To provide dental nursing support to clinicians.

Recording of treatment including charting from the dentist’s instructions and other associated clerical work.

Preparation of filling materials, impression materials, instruments and equipment.

Cleaning away used instruments and materials and keeping the surgery clean and tidy.

Learn to prepare individual treatment rooms for a wide range of dental procedures.

Carry out decontamination and sterilisation duties, ensuring appropriate records are completed.

The training you will be getting

Level 3 Dental Nurse Apprenticeship Standard.

A level 3 qualification which has been approved by the General Dental Council as meeting the requirements for entry to the professional register as a dental nurse.

1 day per week training in Newcastle.
