What you will do in your working day

Here’s what your day-to-day role looks like:

  • Work to well established routines under regular direct supervision, with tasks and work priorities being allocated by a senior colleague. 
  • Perform straightforward tasks to appropriate time and quality requirements.
  • Provide general support activities in own work area, which may take the form of assisting senior colleagues. 
  • Fabricate jigs and complete post-deposition works for WAAM systems. 
  • Assist with the installation of WAAM systems, covering both the mechanical and electrical aspects.
  • Assist with the production of electrical wiring looms.
  • Assist in the servicing and maintenance of WAAM systems.
  • Assist with PLC programming.
  • Assist in robotic integration tasks.
  • Assist with fault finding and developing solutions to improve WAAM systems.
  • Identify problems or difficulties and communicates these to a supervisor/manager. 

Salary range: £13k - £18.2k per annum depending on experience

The training you will be getting

You will be follow the L3 Engineering Fitter Apprenticeship.  

You'll be studying at the Innovation & Technology Centre, one day a week at Milton Keynes College.
