What you will do in your working day

  • As an Apprentice Joiner your key responsibilities would include, being on hand to help the team with any projects currently in production.
  • The role will develop in terms of responsibilities as your knowledge and abilities grow, you can progress with spraying, using machinery, and handling small aspects of larger projects.
  • Desired qualities would be to: Be motivated, Work to deadlines, Achieve high standards, Take pride in whatever you do, Work well as part of a team, Be polite with customers, Be an independent thinker, Be a problem solver.

The training you will be getting

  • The learner will be studying the Carpentry and Joinery Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard qualification.
  • Day release to West Suffolk College.
  • Functional Skills in maths and English, if required.

 

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

  • If the apprenticeship is a success, a full-time role will be offered to you. You will then be given the opportunity to manufacture an item from plain timber into a finished product with little guidance.
