What you will do in your working day

Your daily tasks will include:

  • Playing with the children whilst learning about child development
  • Assisting with day-to-day and long-term planning
  • Helping to keep the children safe in our preschool environment
  • Work with practitioners to support children and their families 

The training you will be getting

  • Support to achieve knowledge, skills and behaviours as laid out in the apprenticeship standard
  • Experienced assessor to assess work and practice
  • Individual learning programme tailored to own needs
  • E-learning, training and monthly tutorials specific to your apprenticeship
  • Mentor and support in the workplace
  • A minimum of 20% paid time to be used for learning and development opportunities
  • English and maths Functional Skills at Level 2 (if required)
  • Support to achieve End Point Assessment
  • At the end of the apprenticeship, you will obtain the Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship qualification
  • Paediatric first aid qualification

About the employer

Gravenhurst and Villages Pre-School is an individual preschool that is situated in the small village of Gravenhurst. As a setting we love the outdoors offering children free flow play throughout all seasons and throughout every day. We also have a nature area and access to woodlands where we like to have forest school sessions and generally just go to explore. We are a community Pre-School and work very closely with our children and parents to ensure the best outcomes for our children.
