What you will do in your working day

We are looking to recruit an Apprentice to join our team in September.
Please note the first-year training will be block release training at Training 2000 in Blackburn.

This position offers to teach the successful applicant training to weld with MIG and TIG to a very high standard on thin gauge materials such as Mild Steel, Stainless Steel and Aluminium. Along with the welding they will also learn how to fabricate these materials to make a wide range of products from Electrical cabinets to Ultrasonic Wash Tanks using Press Brake Machines, Band Saws and many different small power tools whilst learning to read and work from engineering drawings.

Laser Cutting, Punching, Folding, Fabrication, Welding and Painting are all in house capabilities with our experienced and skilled staff able to fabricate in stainless and mild Steel, zintec and aluminium. We specialise in low to medium batch quantities serving a diverse range of industries across the North West.
Size is not an issue for Seward Precision, our machines and premises do not limit our manufacturing capabilities. We relish a new project whether it be a small complex job or a huge fabrication, we are confident in delivering a high-quality product to your specifications.
Our cloud-based production control software allows us to monitor all of our factory processes in real time. This means all work flows through at optimum speed, ensuring on time deliveries to match customers needs.
Quality is the most important thing when answering a clients brief. Seward Precision prides itself on this and accepts nothing less than the highest of standards. Our BS EN ISO 9001:2008 quality control system gives our customers the peace of mind to be sure the end product is exactly as ordered.

Our machines and capabilities include:

  • Amada cnc punching machine (3000 x 1500 max bed)
  • Amada hfe press brake (3m max length)
  • Saw / roll / drill and general assemblies (before and after paint)
  • Inserting, riveting, nutserting
  • Mig, tig and spot welding (75-kva)
  • Powder coating (in-house) to ral / bs colour codes.
  • We are capable of producing cnc 3d models, working with radan and fabriwin
  • Read and produce dwg, dxf and sat.

The training you will be getting

The apprentice will be working towards completing the Metal Fabricator Standard which will include the following:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge)
  • Level 3 Extended Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge)
  • Functional skills in English, Maths and ICT (if not already achieved).
