What you will do in your working day

You will learn how we develop customer relationships and manage their issues, how we negotiate and win our service business and understand the required support functions needed.

Typical skills the apprentice will learn:

  • How to use business systems
  • Learn our quality systems
  • Learn how to identify risk
  • Follow equity, diversity and inclusion rules
  • Learn how we communicate both verbally and using IT/digital systems
  • How to present to your colleagues and managers
  • Customer etiquette, how to understand and how to deal with internal/external customers
  • Learn to prepare detailed and standard quotations
  • Learn cost vs CM2 and profit calculations
  • The importance of order review and order acknowledgement
  • Understanding company and general compliance in business
  • How to review business forecasting order intakes and output
  • Dispute & resolution
  • Attend customer and site visits
  • Carry out and record learning and development activities

The training you will be getting

Apprentices will be working towards the Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner Apprenticeship Standard qualification:

  • The apprentice will receive monthly workplace or virtual visits with a dedicated assessor.
  • The assessor will set individualised learning tasks as part of the apprentice’s workplace training that will incorporate the daily role and duties.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

  • Possibility of permanent role upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, including End Point Assessment.

Things to consider

Your working environment will be in a multi-cultural office, spending time within our service, orders/sales, workshop and purchasing departments. On occasions, with progression, the possibility to visit customers and customer sites where you may need to wear protective clothing.
