Myles West is a multi talented rider competing in mainly Showjumping and is based in Orpington, Sussex. He is looking for a well-presented, upbeat, motivated person who will take pride in their work, to join his team. The yard is busy with masses of variety as Myles has all sorts of horses in for sale, backing and behavioural problems.

Annual wage
£11,648 a year

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • You will be working towards the Level 2 Equine Groom apprenticeship, with the employer at the employers premises, and supported by Haddon Training
  • You will also be supported in completing Functional Skills at Level 1 and/ or 2 in maths and English if you have not yet achieved a 'Pass' grade

There is no accommodation available however the yard is conveniently located right next to the train station so is easily accessible , livery is available to the right candidate .

Myles West is an experienced, freelance rider and trainer offering professional breaking, schooling and tuition. Myles is based at Chelsfield Equestrian Centre. His aim is to provide the highest quality education and assist in the development of a successful partnership between horse and rider across any equestrian discipline, but he specializes in Showjumping , and is out regularly competing. Specialising in young and problem horses Myles’ many years of experience has enabled him to develop the knowledge and skill needed to sympathetically train and correct both horse and rider. After this apprenticeship

  • For the right candidate, there is the possibility of progressing to a Level 3 Senior Equine Groom apprenticeship upon successful completion of Level 2, or possiblity of a permanent position
