What you will do in your working day

  • Working alongside a small team of Trading Standards and Licensing professionals you will learn to provide advice and guidance to both consumers and businesses on their rights and responsibilities
  • Investigate cases of unfair trading or illegal business activity
  • Deal with licensing applications and enquiries
  • Represent the Council at Committee Meetings and in Court as required.

The training you will be getting

  • Level 6 Trading Standards Professional qualification
  • Training delivered by CSA
  • One day a week

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

Become a qualified Trading Standards and Licensing Officer.

There is also the potential for you to secure long term employment with the Council upon completion of your qualification, and the ability to also apply for internal vacancies restricted to employees throughout your apprenticeship.
