    Monday - Saturday, 10.00am - 5.00pm, Sunday 10.30am - 4.00pm. The apprentice can work only on weekdays if preferred.

What you will do in your working day

Administration:

  • Prepare and manage emails, weekly sales reports and
    invoices
  • Answering the telephone, responding to social media queries and liaising with dealers and customers to assist in the delivery of services
  • Arranging the monthly shop floor manning rota
  • Learn to accurately input data into computerised systems, databases and spreadsheets, and process and retrieve data as necessary
  • Cash management including administering petty cash, recording and banking sales receipts
  • Order and maintain stocks of relevant packaging, stationery and forms
  • Facilitate the shipping of items to customers, including completing shipping forms, ensuring that items are appropriately packaged and insured, making transport arrangement with shippers
  • Diarising, arranging and ensuring the maintenance of key health  and safety equipment and policies e.g. fire extinguishers, CCTV, electrical testing, alarms

Retail Sales & Marketing:

  • Supporting the antique dealers in selling to customers in the
    antiques centre, including using the EPOS system
  • Preparing photo and video content for marketing material
  • Use of social media business management software for marketing on instagram and facebook as well as the maintenance of the Durham House website
  • Assist with the presentation of seasonal displays including
    the shop window
  • Assist with the organisation of occasional promotional
    events

  • Business Administrator Level 3 Standard Apprenticeship

You will receive support from an assessor to help you prepare for your End Point Assessment covering:

  • Knowledge
  • Skills
  • Behaviour
  • You will attend online masterclasses every other week for 1
    day
  • Maths & English Level 2 Functional skills (if required)

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

  • Progression following completion of the apprenticeship into a full-time post
