What you will do in your working day

  • Scanning incoming post after it has been opened by a senior member of staff, ensuring it is saved into the correct folders on the Case Management System and then distributing to relevant department
  • Franking outgoing post and taking it to the post office at the end of each day
  • Photocopying
  • Filing
  • Archiving Files
  • Covering reception at lunchtimes when the receptionist is absent from the office
  • Dealing with clients and visitors who call into the office.
  • Answering the telephone
  • Taking messages, where appropriate and emailing the relevant person.
  • Making appointments
  • Taking card payments
  • Providing support to our secretarial and fee earning staff as may be necessary
  • Checking and stock-taking kitchen and bathroom supplies including milk, tea, coffee etc.

The training you will be getting

  • Business Administration Level 3 qualification
  • Functional Skills in maths and English, if required.
  • Training schedule has yet to be agreed. Details will be made available at a later date.

We are a busy firm of Solicitors and Estate Agents based in the centre of Kendal. We also have an office in Grange. We currently have 23 members of staff. We specialise in three areas of law, conveyancing both residential and commercial, matrimonial, and private client (wills, lasting powers of attorney, probate etc).
