    Bristol City Council is Real Living Wage employer. If you are under 18 years the salary is £9.60 ph (£18,470 pa); for those 18 years and older the salary is £12 ph (£23, 151 pa) for a 37 hours week

    Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm with one hour for lunch.

What you will do in your working day

In a typical day: 

  • You will support effective communication with partners to promote the organisations activities
  • You will support legal compliance and consumer protection within trading standards law
  • You will support in providing technical advice and knowledge to stakeholders
  • You will support the investigation of issues arising, undertake reviews, audits, provide guidance in improving strategies and policies to stakeholders.

The training you will be getting

  • You will gain an honours degree as a Trading Standards ProfessionalLevel 6
  • As part of your apprenticeship, you'll work towards achieving the CTSI Trading Standards Practitioner Diploma (formerly Diploma in Consumer Affairs and Trading Standards - DCATS) within 5 years from appointment. 
  • You will need a mimimum of 104 UCAS points or equivalent in a relevant subject area and GCSE in Maths and English, minimum grade 4/C
  • Training will be delivered by CSA as a day release, on line over Teams, and in the worksplace.
