Summary

The apprentice will use Computer Aided Design software and graphic tools to produce 2D/3D drawings for various projects. You will work with the engineering and management teams to create schematics, general arrangements, and detailed designs for our Biomethane to Grid/Pipeline and Bio-CNG Filling station projects, as well as H2 projects.

£15,750 a year

You will be expected to work from the office. Monday – Friday 9am to 5pm except the days you are required at college. Lunch breaks are 30-minutes.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • Level 3 engineering design and draughtsperson apprenticeship standard
  • Level 2 functional skills in English and maths if required
  • End point assessment

This 42-month program supports your development at work with skills and development days (weekly) delivered during term time at our Woodlands Campus in north Solihull.

Essential qualifications

GCSE or equivalent in:

  • 3 other subjects including science or technology (grade 4 (C) or above)
  • English (grade 4 (C) or above)
  • Maths (grade 4 (C) or above)

Other requirements

The role will be entirely office based and requires work in front of two computer screens. CNG will offer all equipment necessary to make the environment comfortable, whilst following all health and safety guidelines. Occasional site visit will be required. Full training and PPE will be provided.

About this company

CNG Services Limited (CSL) provides consultancy, design and build services to the gas industry, all focused on reducing Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions. We only work on projects that reduce GHG including use of H2.

After this apprenticeship

A permanent role within CNG Services. The candidate can also expect to take full responsibility for designing entire projects from start to finish, along with site visits using our GPS surveying equipment and drone. The candidate will also be allowed to explore future career development through a degree and joining IGEM that will benefit them and the company.
