What you will do in your working day


Sales Department:

  • Assist the sales team with administrative tasks, such as maintaining customer records, preparing sales reports, and processing customer orders.
  • Support the creation and distribution of sales materials, including brochures, presentations, and product catalogues.
    Help manage customer inquiries and follow up on leads.

Marketing Department:

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to execute marketing campaigns, both online and offline.
  • Assist in organising events, webinars, and promotional activities.
    Monitor social media channels and contribute to content creation.

Export Department

  • Work closely with the export team to ensure smooth international transactions.
  • Prepare export documentation, including invoices, shipping documents, and customs declarations.
  • Coordinate logistics and track shipments.

Procurement Department

  • Support procurement activities by maintaining supplier databases, tracking orders, and managing inventory levels.
  • Assist in raising purchase orders.
  • Help streamline procurement processes.

Human Resources (HR) Department

  • Assist HR in recruitment processes, including posting job vacancies, scheduling interviews, and inducting new employees.
  • Maintain employee records, update personnel files, and handle administrative tasks related to payroll and benefits.
  • Contribute to employee engagement initiatives.

Finance Department

  • Collaborate with the finance team to process invoices, reconcile accounts, and manage expenses.
  • Assist in budget tracking, financial reporting, and data entry.
  • Learn about financial regulations and compliance.

The training you will be getting

  • You will achieve a Level 3 Business Administration qualification apprenticeship via a work mentor and Cambridge Regional College.
  • Training schedule has yet to be agreed. Details will be made available at a later date.

There may be a permanent position available at the end of the apprenticeship if all goes well.

About the employer

RK PrintCoat Instruments manufacture a range of sample preparation equipment/ print testing equipment with one common theme, production of repeatable samples. The equipment is mainly used in three areas R&D, QC and for small scale production of specialist products. These samples are used for customer presentation samples, computer colour matching data, printability testing and to test for gloss, strength, weathering etc. The major industrial users of RK equipment include ink and paint manufacturers, resin and dyestuff suppliers and manufacturers of textiles, adhesives, papers, films, foils and medical and pharmaceutical products. RK’s machines have been installed worldwide for various application techniques most of which fall into the categories of Flexo, Gravure (including ink testing and ink proofing), Paste inks, Paints and Adhesives, and high tech coatings such as Printable Electronics.
