About the employer

The Nursery provision at Horrabridge Primary and Nursery School caters for children from age 2 upwards. The Nursery is led by two experienced Nursery Managers: Karen Scourfield (Mon-Thurs) and Clare Wardle (Fri). They are supported by additional experienced Nursery practitioners. The Nursery provision is open during term time, offering morning and afternoon sessions. Sessions run from 9.00 am – 12.00 noon and from 12.00 noon – 3.00 pm (the latter including lunch time). Additionally, Nursery pupils are able to access the Breakfast and After School Clubs if required (see timings below). The Nursery has its own well-resourced classroom base including free-flow access to an enclosed and partially covered outdoor astro turf area. Nursery pupils also benefit from access to the school hall and playgrounds and garden areas. The Nursery Managers plan weekly with the Reception class teacher and the provision is overseen by Miss Emily Friend (Year 2 class teacher and Nursery/Reception and Key Stage 1 KS1 Leader) . This ensures that there is consistency in planning and appropriate progression for the pupils in Nursery. This close link between the Nursery and Reception staff and familiarity with the school environment ensures that the transition from Nursery to Reception is as smooth as possible.
