What you will do in your working day

Come and join our team of exceptional support workers. As an apprentice you will work alongside the team to help build a culture that enables all to achieve their full potential. You will learn how to provide person-centred support, attend to physical, social and emotional needs and contribute to the well-being of our residents. Support for study can be provided in the workplace. If you are reliable, caring and interested in making a difference, this could be a rewarding opportunity.

Our Companions are an integral part of the lives of our residents. The role involves encouraging and supporting our young people to fulfil their potential for independence and learning. This is achieved by supporting them with household jobs, hobbies and accessing the community. We also support with personal care and medication. Maintaining appropriate records and implementing support and care plans is a large part of the role. Contributing to and working effectively as part of a team is important, and you will gain invaluable experience in a social care setting where you will be valued and supported on your journey. We want you to come with a "can do " approach and in return we will do our best to enable you to really enjoy your role

The training you will be getting

Paragon Skills is a leading national Apprenticeship training provider, supporting over 4,000 learners and 1,500 organisations. Paragon Skills has some of the highest success and achievement rates in the industry.

It has an Ofsted Grade 2 Good rating and an overall achievement rate of 71.4%, exceeding the national average of 65.6%. Using a blended approach, learners are always at the forefront of our priorities. All learners are assigned a Personal Tutor who will be their main point of contact.

This involves regular catch-ups, check-in emails and calls. Your employer will agree to give you 20% of your working hours solely towards your study.

Working hours Please note that anyone under the age of 18 can only work a maximum of 40 hours per week. Any role which exceeds these hours should be amended accordingly, to fall in line with the legislation.
