What you will do in your working day

During this apprenticeship, you will learn a vast range of knowledge, skills and behaviours, covering topics such as project management, systems & processes, business structures and so much more.

You will undertake the Business Administration qualification. The programme is designed to mould you into a high-level, all-rounded business professional. You will learn in detail about business communication, organisation, managing change, problem-solving & much more.

To achieve this, you will learn how to:

  • Provide excellent customer service to both external and internal customers
  • Support the team in using various communication methods, including social media
  • Be the key point of contact for staff and Governors
  • Execute ad-hoc administration tasks on behalf of the senior management team

Administrative Support:

  • Prepare and distribute policies among School and prepare policy templates for completion by Policy Owners
  • Answering telephone enquiries in the Amethyst Central Office
  • Be responsible for ordering and stock checking office stationery and consumables
  • Supporting the Executive PA with hospitality requests
  • Maintaining oversight of the room booking system


  • To undertake clerking duties to the Local Academy Governing Boards and ad-hoc panels in operation
  • Attending and providing clerking duties for committee meetings and ad-hoc panels in operation
  • Completing pre-meeting items such as preparing the agenda in conjunction with MAT Clerk
  • Maintaining and managing Governor Online Portal (Gov Hub)
  • Collating all the supporting papers and polices for committee and panel meetings and circulating 7 days before the meeting.
  • Producing accurate, detailed and well-presented minutes
  • Monitoring and following up on action points
  • Maintain formal records of the Local Academy Governance Arrangements
  • Send out induction material to newly appointed Local Governors.
  • Attending appropriate training and staying up to date with Education Policy
  • Act as returning officer for parent and staff governor elections


  • Manage and update information and engage with users on social media sites such as Twitter
  • Supporting the Market Director in maintaining and updating information on the organisation's website
  • Undertake market research General Administration
  • Support the Marketing Director with Brand advertising and communications
  • Attend Trust events to support with the Marketing strategy
