What you will do in your working day

Working within a small accounts team you will be:

  • Processing invoices/proformas for the sales ledger.
  • Preparing sales reports for managers.
  • Entering receipts and expenses into accounting software for the purchase ledger.
  • Assisting with preparation of month end management accounts and year end financial statements.

The training you will be getting

  • Training will be one day per week at Grantham College, Stonebridge Road, Grantham, NG31 9AP.
  • Apprentices who do not have level 2 Maths and English (C/4 at GCSE or equivalent) will need to achieve this during the apprenticeship. There will be no cost for this training.
  • The apprenticeship includes the AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting qualification.
  • Successful apprentices will be awarded the level 3 Assistant Accountant apprenticeship standard qualification (level 3) as well as the AAT Level 3.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

  • If the apprenticeship goes well, there may be the opportunity to discuss progression onto the level 4 apprenticeship or a full-time permanent position.
