Sytner is offering a fantastic opportunity for an Apprentice Vehicle Damage Paint Technician to join their team learning how to carry out duties such as preparing, spraying and finishing vehicles that have been involved in collisions and/or other incidents in an efficient manner.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

Nationally recognised qualifications:

  • IMI Apprenticeship in Vehicle damage Body technician (Standard – Level 3) Modules MET & Body to be complete
  • Functional Skills Level 2 (if required)
  • Regular review and welfare visits from our assessors who will observe all evidence opportunities that occur naturally in the workplace
  • Training will take place via Emtec, Ruddington on a block release model 8 x per year

Vehicle damage paint technician (level 3)

Equal to A level

Course contents
  • Ability to undertake appropriate job preparation prior to commencing repair e.g. substrate surface preparation, paint volume calculation etc
  • Ability to correctly identify the substrate materials to be refinished e.g. plastic, steel, aluminium etc
  • Ability to interpret relevant technical data and methods to create paint manufactures specified application
  • Ability to use refinishing materials following paint manufacturer specifications to reinstate vehicle finish back to high quality
  • Ability to identify and operate the correct repair tools, equipment and devices used in the process e.g mixing systems, paint booths, UV lamps and spray equipment

    GCSE or equivalent in:

    • GCSE or equivalent English (grade 4/C or above)
